Method
Preheat Oven:
- Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish or line with foil.
Make Chicken Filling:
- In a skillet, combine shredded chicken, taco seasoning, water, and salsa.
- Simmer over medium heat for 5–7 minutes until warmed and slightly thickened.
Fill Tacos:
- Stand taco shells upright in the baking dish.
- Spoon chicken mixture evenly into each shell.
- Sprinkle cheese generously over each filled taco.
Bake:
- Bake uncovered for 10–12 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and shells are golden and crispy.
Add Toppings & Serve:
- Top with your favorite toppings and serve immediately.
Notes
- For extra crispy shells, bake the empty taco shells for 5 minutes before filling.
- These reheat well in a toaster oven or air fryer.
- Use ground chicken or turkey if preferred.
